Privacy Notice
This notice explains how Wapmass Limited uses personal information when you visit or use SamClerg.
1. Controller and contact
Wapmass Limited is the controller for SamClerg. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 11566818 at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom. Our ICO registration is ZC026441. Contact us at contact@wapmass.co.uk.
2. Information we use
- Account and contact information, including email address, sign-in provider and account identifiers.
- Profile and matching information, including name, date of birth, country or region, photographs, introduction video, lifestyle, values, heritage, relationship preferences and compatibility answers.
- Private service feedback and ratings, including the feature being reviewed, your rating, written comments and the administrative outcome.
- Identity and safety information, including government-ID and age-verification outcomes, any workflow-specific face-comparison result, reports, blocks, appeals and moderation records. SamClerg does not require a live-selfie or liveness capture for its ID-card verification workflow. Raw identity evidence is restricted and handled under defined retention controls.
- Member content and activity, including messages, voice notes, protected attachments, reactions, relationship-stage decisions and support requests.
- Technical and security information, including device or browser details, network and audit logs, notification subscription identifiers, fraud signals and service diagnostics.
- If you allow optional first-party journey measurement, a random tab-session identifier, landing source or campaign and service milestones from visit to paid membership. This does not contain profile answers or private conversations.
3. Why we use it
We use information to create and secure accounts, confirm eligibility and identity, build profiles, calculate and explain compatibility, provide curated introductions and communication, enforce relationship-stage safeguards, deliver notifications, answer requests, investigate concerns, prevent fraud and improve reliability.
Depending on the activity, our lawful bases include performance of our contract with you, legitimate interests in operating and protecting an adult matchmaking service, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations. Optional visit-to-membership journey measurement is activated only after your consent choice. Where special-category information is used, we identify an appropriate additional condition and limit access.
4. Who processes information
We use carefully selected providers for hosting, database and protected media storage, authentication, ID-card verification, email or notification delivery, security and Sam-assisted features. Current core providers include Cloudflare, Supabase and Didit. Google may process information when you choose Google sign-in. OpenAI services may process limited content when a Sam or translation feature clearly requires it. Providers act under contractual and security controls appropriate to their role.
5. International transfers
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use recognised safeguards such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections and assess the security of the transfer.
6. Retention
We keep account and profile information while the account is active and for only as long afterwards as needed for the stated purpose. A deletion request immediately removes the profile from discovery and begins erasure of account content and protected media. Limited fraud, safeguarding, legal, payment or dispute records may be retained for a defined period where necessary. Backups expire through controlled rotation.
7. Your choices and rights
You can pause discovery and control notifications in Profile. Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to withdraw consent. Use Manage or delete account or email us. We normally respond to rights requests within one month and may need to verify your identity.
8. Adult-only service
SamClerg is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly permit children to create or use accounts. If you believe a child is using SamClerg, follow the urgent reporting instructions in our Safety Standards.
9. Complaints and updates
Please contact us first so we can investigate. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We will date material updates and explain significant changes through SamClerg or by email.
